In December 2025, I went to Morocco.
I came to here because of Sanmao, whose writing I loved as a child.
I wanted to reach twelve cities in twelve days.
I did not know what it meant to truly arrive. So I decided to stand still for twenty-five minutes each day. Standing meditation became my way of experiencing each place, allowing my body and my consciousness to remember it.
Through this practice, I chose to become a still sculpture.
Remaining still, observing movement.
As I became the one being looked at, I also became the observer.
Unexpected encounters began to unfold.
A middle-aged Berber man stopped to talk with me and invited me to his home. A stranger quietly joined me and stood beside me. A dog licked my fingers. A cat stayed close by. Some people waved at the camera, while others slowed down—or quietly walked around me, careful not to disturb my stillness.
These unpredictable encounters continually entered the work, and in doing so, continually transformed it.
